As most people probably know, Martin Bromage was hoping to raise £150,000 for the Help For Heroes charity until his adventure tragically ended on Monday. Looking at the various on-line forums and correspondance circulating, some microlight clubs are now looking at making HFH their chosen chairty for contributions from their various 2010 events. I can't recall if we discussed this at the AGM, but how about us making a donation from our events throughout 2010? Thoughts?

Hi All
I've added a poll to this topic so that we can see what members feel about this suggestion. The poll will run for 14 days, so vote now before you forget.

I agree we should support a charity and would suggest the local air ambulance, should one of us have an accident and be laying in a field somewhere, it would be nice to think they would be in existance to help.
The services  men and women have my admiration and are very brave but they took the queens shilling and knew what they were getting into, its just a shame they are sent away on so many crap causes that no one will care about in a few years.

I must say I wholeheartedly agree with Chris on this - yes, the HFH charity is a very deserving cause - but I do feel the local Air Ambulance is a more fitting benefactor for us, considering our chosen sport.

Good idea, Chris, and well put.  I changed my vote as a result.
